Deltoid spurge | Everglades Tours

The Deltoid Spurge is on the U.S. Endangered Species List. It is classified as endangered in Florida. This plant favors a pine rock lands habitat found in Miami-Dade County. Population booms and urban sprawl have led to the

conversion of much of its homeland. In addition, the Deltoid Spurge's longevity depends on periodic fires to reduce the shade canopy and the buildup of organic debris. Managed fires will be a necessary part of this plant's

recovery plan.
